THE SUPREME DOCTRINE OF SELF-SURRENDER

The path of complete devotional surrender is the most expeditious path for obtaining the grace of God. It is also known as the path of Sharnagati or Prapatti. It is the most efficacious path for those who are seeking liberation but are incapable of practising Karma yoga, Bhakti yoga or Gyan yoga due to lack of ability, knowledge and means. The Lord in His infinite mercy has ordained the path of Sharnagati or Prapatti to grant liberation or Moksha to those who are devoid of any other means of attaining salvation on their own. For those who lack the knowledge and capacity to perform Bhakti yoga or lack the means and capability to adopt any other means or Upaya, the path of absolute unconditional surrender is assured to grant salvation if they are able to perform Prapatti properly and obtain the causeless redeeming grace of the Lord. JEEVA JAGAT ISHWARA AND MAYA

The material universe of objects and things is nothing but awareness itself appearing to itself with names, forms and functions. Brahman alone appears as the objective world known as Jagat to experience itself through names, forms and activity. Sat-chit-ananda Brahman is Nirgun Nirakara... formless attributeless actionless, unchanging absolute reality but appears as Jeeva, Jagat and Ishwara with naam, roopa vyavahar.  Names and forms manifest existence that is Sat. Existence lends being to names and forms. They exist because of pure existence. Objects with name and form borrow existence from pure existence and come into existence. We experience the objects and the existence in them. They enable us to experience pure existence. Pure existence in itself is not an object of experience. It is experienceable only through ...

The path to enlightenment is arduous, fraught with onerous challenges and formidable obstacles. However, identifying and characterising these obstacles makes them easier to surmount. There are three main obstacles to enlightenment that a spiritual seeker must overcome. These obstacles arise from the three fundamental defects of the mind namely Chit mal, vikshepa and aavarana. 1) Chit mal refers to the acquired impurities and ingrained impure tendencies of the mind. 2) Vikshepa refers to the propensity of the mind to be scattered, distracted, disturbed and agitated. Vikshepa is an effect of Rajas or Rajo guna. It is produced by Maya which possesses the power of projection and distraction known as Vikshepa shakti that leads to a scattered, fluctuating deluded mind hankering after material objects in distracted pursuit of illusory multiplicity. 3) Aavarana refers to the veil of ignorance and Agyan that conceals the knowledge of the Self and keeps the mind anchored in ignorance. It is an a...
